Station 19 Season 6 Episode 17: Release Date, Recap & Streaming Guide

ABC’s firefighter show Station 19‘s next-to-last episode of the season sets up for more action-packed rescues while exploring the professional and personal relationships of a firefighter crew that has many skeletons in their closet. From a Fire Chief who has inappropriate work relationships, a Captain with a drinking problem trying to tame his inner demons, and firefighters navigating their romantic life while trying to balance out their character flaws, Station 19 delivers a great story week after week, managing to become one of ABC’s best entertainment proposals for weekly action dramas.

As the season leads to its conclusion, there are many things that need to be solved, like the Fire Chief Ross scandal, the untimely press coverage that it entailed, and how political factors in with the mayor in the administrative aspects of it.

Also, the show is setting us up for the possible redemption of Captain Beckett’s alcoholism, all while the story sets up for the long-awaited Firefighters ball that will bring the conclusion to this action-packed season, not without showing us the response capabilities of these brave men and women as they rescue those in peril.

Station 19 Season 6 Episode 16 Recap

We begin with Ben still out on his holiday and Kate stepping in his place; it’s fair to say that Ms. Powell has a big mouth because she says very hurtful things, case in point, her taunts at Sullivan for seeing Chief Ross and saying that she made it to Fire Chief by having sex with those in power and that that is the oldest trick in the book, criticizing her talents and leadership skills. Poor Chief Ross! Everybody wants a piece of her. Among those who want Fire Chief Ross out is Dixon. He isn’t over the fact that she made him look bad in front of the reporters. Dixon wanting her out is his payback.

Beckett’s Comeback

While that media press circus is all over the place, the good ol’ folks at Station 19 have to deal with Captain Beckett coming back as he was getting some aid concerning his alcoholism which landed him on probation. After putting his inner demons out, the man saved his gig. Regardless, the man remains on probation and must work with Theo until probation concludes; this means that when the episode’s disaster took place, a nasty car crash on a highway, he had to follow Theo instead of the other way around.

Some poor kids got rammed from behind on their car on the highway, and there were no survivors. It was a hard blow to the firefighters who felt frustrated they couldn’t save anyone from such a terrible death. After this unfortunate event, the episode goes on to tell us more about Beckett’s story arc concerning his drinking problem, all while going to lengths on why Milo ended up in the hospital in the first place.
