Earlier in the month we reported that Anime Limited had most likely delayed the release of Cardcaptor Sakura – Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray as a result of an updated release date being listed on the product page, and today the distributor have now confirmed the delay along with a brand new statement.
As posted on social media, and sent to customers who had pre-ordered the set directly from their store, the Collector’s Edition Blu-Ray of Cardcaptor Sakura has been delayed until 4th July 2022 due to ongoing quality checks and wanting to ensure that the product is of the quality that fans expect to receive.
As a 70 episode series utilising entirely new video materials not seen outside of Japan previously, bringing Cardcaptor Sakura to Blu-ray has been a complex and time-intensive task. It’s incredibly important to us that the finished product is the best possible quality, and as a result we’ve found ourselves needing additional time to check for and resolve some final issues as part of the authoring process, which has unfortunately led to the need to move the date to July 4th while these changes are completed. We’re very sorry for the additional delay – and the late announcement of this date change – but we’re confident the extra time will be more than worthwhile to give you an enjoyable viewing experience.
This now confirms that those who are looking forward to the the Collector’s Edition release of Cardcaptor Sakura will have to wait until 4th July 2022, but waiting aside it should certainly be a great release to wait for.
